Dr Mohd Yusry joined Royal Selangor in 1988 as an industrial engineer, five weeks after returning with a BE from the University of New South Wales, Australia. He then headed the Research & Development team, which involved machine design and fabrication, developing new processes and troubleshooting production issues. Continuing his education at Malaysia’s International Islamic University, Dr Yusry obtained a Masters in Manufacturing Engineering, and a PhD in Engineering, becoming Head of New Product Development in 2018. Dr Yusry credits continuous education as the key to progress, and is thankful that Royal Selangor provides him an opportunity to expand his practical and theoretical knowledge and expertise.

Mavis joined Royal Selangor in 2013 as a retail executive, in charge of the Gardens Mall and Bangsar Shopping Centre stores, with a strong understanding of customer expectations in the luxury market. Incorporating her knowledge into tactical CRM initiatives as well as our Privileges customer loyalty programme, Mavis’s ability to coach her sales teams has achieved extraordinary results. Selected to participate in Royal Selangor’s High Potential Talent Development Programme, Mavis was promoted to Senior Retail Executive in 2017, in charge of our KLCC and Pavilion flagship stores.

Veni began her career in Royal Selangor in 2008, at the tender age of 19, as a customer service assistant in the Corporate Sales team, where she quickly learnt the ins and outs of customer relations, timely deliveries and the importance of teamwork. Her career path has taken her from customer service to assistant supervisor with our Bespoke team, confidential assistant with Legal & Risk Management, administration of our sister brand Comyns, and her current supervisory role, assisting in administration and payroll. Veni’s aspirations have inspired her to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources.

Vira joined Royal Selangor in 2014 as an online sales executive, with 3 years of experience in the advertising industry under his belt. In 2015, he transferred to the International Marketing team as an account manager, covering the Australian, United Kingdom and North American markets, with responsibilities including the servicing of various accounts, planning and coordinating in-store events and marketing campaigns, and managing inventory. Selected to participate in Royal Selangor’s High Potential Talent Development Programme, Vira was promoted to International Marketing Manager in 2018.

Wella joined the Visitor Centre sales team in 2017. After 13 years in hospitality, she is enjoying her first foray into sales. Her role includes introducing the Royal Selangor brand to our many visitors, whether by leading tours through our museum, or explaining the finer points of our myriad products on the retail floor. In the course of her work promoting Royal Selangor and Malaysia, Wella has had the opportunity to meet visitors from around the world, with whom she has forged some remarkable bonds. For Wella, a sincere heart and a warm smile is the best form of customer service.

A travel junkie from Batu Pahat, Boon Hwa joined Royal Selangor in 2014 as a junior graphic designer. Fascinated by furniture design, architecture and interiors, his responsibilities include conceptualising graphic design solutions across Royal Selangor group businesses, and liaising with printers and suppliers to manage production schedules. Promoted to Graphic Designer in 2017, projects Boon Hwa has worked on include the direction and manipulation of photography for our Star Wars, DC and Marvel licensed collection, leveraging his passion for art and photography.
